Gracie's Birthday and more...

It's been quite a while since we posted. Sorry about that. Things have been kinda busy around here. Wrapping up school and getting ready for the holidays! :)

Gracie's birthday was Dec. 12th and we've been celebrating for an entire week! She had an early morning surprise party (with Dora legos and ice-cream for breakfast!) on her actual birthday, then another party at school that afternoon, then another party with her friends and the Williams' clan on Saturday and a "breakfast for dinner" party per her request on Sunday with my bunch! So, 6, has been good to Gracie so far!

And to top it all off, we took the girls on our annual trip to see the lights at Opryland. It was cold, but clear, and we had a great time. This was the first year that Autumn really got to enjoy the pretty lights. They were both wide-eyed and giggly the whole time! Part of our trip is to enjoy some delicious ice-cream (inside where it's warm!) during our tour.....We are blessed!

Another wonderful part of our weekend was getting to keep our sweet nephew, Camden! He is the most precious "little man"! Thanks to Trent & Jayme for letting us love on him this weekend! We love you guys! :)

And one final note....PLEASE pray for Mike! He is in the middle of what could be an awesome opportunity for our family and church family! Pray for wisdom and direction and that the Lord would bless this opportunity. And that through it all Jesus would be glorified! Thank you SO much for your prayers! We love and appreciate you all from the bottom of our hearts! :)

Thanksgiving!

So it's been a little while. Sorry. As many of you know, I'm enrolled in three online classes. It usually works out pretty good....unless you can't get online for a week! Yea, I know. So anyway, we are officially back into cyberspace! And I have a lot of catching up to do!

Well, we enjoyed our Thanksgiving holiday like crazy! We ate, laughed, played, ate some more, laughed some more and played some more...well, you get the picture. It was fun times. Over the course of two festive occasions, we (and our families) consumed over 40lbs of turkey! Countless tasty side dishes and desserts. We are blessed! I began to realize (as Mike and I was talking to our good friend at church) how silly it is that we complain about how much food we eat and how we might have gained a few (or a lot) of pounds over the holiday! What a problem to have, right?! The food was fantastic - and having my wisdom teeth cut out a couple of weeks ago and eating only soup for a pretty long time, well let's just say it was on - but I have so much more to be thankful for this year. I have an amazing, hottie of a husband, two beautiful, intelligent and sweet girls, a nice, warm home, a car that runs, family & friends I couldn't be without, and a Savior who died for me. We all have our problems, but something about this time of year just seems to help us get a grip and realize how extremely blessed we truly are!

Like many others, it has become our tradition to set up our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. And well, this is what happens when you don't specify a "serious or silly face" for your picture!

He's the best! :)
I sure hope each of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, too. We love you!!

I Nearly Killed My Wife

Okay folks, I've been told I do some crazy stuff when I'm asleep..such as waking myself up laughing uncontrollably about one of two things: a dream I've had of either my brother Trent, or my brother in law Josh. Just for the record, these are two of the funniest guys on the planet. Probably the funniest thing that has happened while I was sleeping was the time that I scared the crap out of my wife, Trina. Actually, I had just woke up in the middle of the night, just like all of us do from time to time. I opened my eyes, and I could see my wife's beautiful face lying right in front of me. Awww, how sweet, I thought.. and then she opened her eyes. I didn't say anything. I didn't move. And then came the scream... a scream that she let out that nearly made me pee my pants. I guess when she woke up, she saw me there with my eyes opened and thought I was dead or something. Looking back now, it was pretty halarious, although at the moment, it definitely was not. There were tears and everything. Not from me, mind you, but her.
So anyways, a couple nights ago, I was having this dream. There were these college guys picking on someone, and me being the daring and resourceful Jack Bauer that I am (remember, this is a dream), decided to end this destructive conflict and restore order to the galaxy. I told these young fellows to come and pick on someone their own size, and they happily obliged. So in my dream, I decided to use the quickest, most effective blow that any normal federal agent would use...I was going directly for the throat, Ralph Machhio style. Mr. Miagi would've been pleased.. but the thing is, I sometimes really get animated when I'm dreaming, and I really did let loose with a real life swing. I felt my arm moving...I felt my fist land on something soft..and i immediately woke up, and I was no longer Jack Bauer (cool guy), but just plain old Mike who was very afraid that he'd just punched the daylights out of his unsuspecting wife. At this point in the story, I have to tell you that the Lord is very kind to me, because my hand landed on Trina's pillow about 2 inches above her head. And to top it all off, she didn't even flinch! So I guess I really need to back off a little on my 24 watching. Jack Bauer is cool and all, but I'm really not wanting to have to sleep on the couch.

Autumn's 1st Haircut

This past week was a whirl! Gracie was sick with strep throat and something else that had her coughing her sweet little head off causing her to miss 8 days of school (which you can imagine is an eternity to a kindergartener)! And on top of a History paper, a History exam and loads of other homework, I managed to get 3 wisdom teeth cut out while I was awake! I wouldn't recommend it! However, we did survive and had a few moments of fun in between the coughing and crying and jaw pain! I took the girls to get a haircut on Saturday and Gracie (being an old pro) went first to help give her little sister the courage to sit up in the big chair! They both did great, however, Autumn never cracked a smile! Getting your first haircut is apparently very serious business!

Welcome to our Journey

I am blessed to receive inspiration from many people in many ways! This blog comes from one of them!

Like many people, we have family and friends too far away! And for those, this blog will hopefully be a fun way to keep up with this crazy adventure we Williams call life!

As we have recently moved to the middle of nowhere (and love it madly!), along with the move came the beloved "dial-up"...so be patient for pictures as it takes me 400 years to upload them!
I'm excited to get to share with everyone what the Lord is so graciously doing in our lives as Mike & I see each new day together -laughing, loving and learning while we watch our sweet girls giggle and grow! Everyday truly is an adventure around here!
